1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your browser or device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember state between page loads — for example, whether you have already been counted as a unique visitor in the current session. Cookies set by the domain you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by an embedded external service are called third-party cookies.
This page lists every cookie nestulabs.com sets, why it exists, how long it lasts, and what controls you have over it.
2. Cookie Inventory
The table below lists every cookie confirmed to be set by nestulabs.com as of the effective date above. This inventory was derived from direct inspection of the site's source code. No additional tracking, advertising, or fingerprinting cookies are in use.
| Cookie name | Set by | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|
| ph_<key>_posthog | PostHog | Stores an anonymous visitor ID and session state so interaction events are not double-counted across page navigation. The visitor ID is a random string — no name, email, or device fingerprint is stored. | Analytics · First-party | 1 year |
The cookie name contains the PostHog project key in place of <key>. The duration above reflects PostHog's default retention period, which applies because the site does not override cookie_expiration in the SDK initialisation config.
3. Cookie Categories
Cookies are commonly grouped into four categories. Below is each category, whether nestulabs.com uses it, and why.
- Strictly necessary — Required for the site to operate. The NestuLabs site does not set its own strictly necessary cookies. No user authentication session exists on nestulabs.com; the Supabase database client runs server-side only with session persistence explicitly disabled.
- Functional — Remember user preferences across visits (e.g., language, theme). nestulabs.com does not set functional cookies.
- Analytics — Help us understand how visitors use the site. We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics. PostHog is configured with automatic page-view capture disabled — events are only recorded when a specific interaction occurs (e.g., using the AI Automation Roast tool). All analytics data is anonymous; no event properties contain names, email addresses, or persistent identifiers.
- Marketing / advertising — nestulabs.com sets no marketing or advertising cookies. There is no Google Ads tag, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, ad retargeting script, or affiliate tracking code on this site. This was verified by inspecting
app/layout.tsx and all layout components.
4. Retention Periods
- Analytics cookie (ph_<key>_posthog): Retained for 12 months from the date it is first set. The expiry date is renewed on each return visit within that window. If you do not return to the site for 12 months the cookie expires automatically.
- Strictly necessary cookies: Not applicable — none are set by this site.
- Marketing cookies: Not applicable — none are set.
5. Managing Your Preferences
You can delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Because nestulabs.com sets no strictly necessary cookies, blocking all cookies will not prevent the site from loading — it will only stop PostHog analytics from running. There is no in-app cookie consent banner or toggle on this site.
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → See all site data and permissions. Search for nestulabs.com and delete stored cookies. To block future cookies, add nestulabs.com under “Sites that can never use cookies.”

6. Third-Party Services
PostHog is the only third-party service that places a cookie in your browser when you visit nestulabs.com. All other third-party services used by NestuLabs operate server-side and do not interact with your browser directly.
- PostHog — Anonymous product analytics. Event data is stored on PostHog's US infrastructure (us.i.posthog.com). Used to understand how features are used — not for advertising or audience profiling. PostHog Privacy Policy →
- Supabase — Database and storage provider. Used server-side only with session persistence disabled. Supabase does not set any cookies in your browser via nestulabs.com. Supabase Privacy Policy →
- Resend — Transactional email delivery. Called server-side only when you submit a form requesting an email recap. Resend does not set any cookies in your browser. Resend Privacy Policy →
7. Changes to This Policy
If we add or remove cookies — for example, by integrating a new analytics tool or removing PostHog — we will update this page and revise the effective date. We will not add marketing or advertising cookies without updating this policy first.
